User Interface (UI) Web Developer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Analyze user requirements to determine system features and functionality
  • Drive best practices, quality and consistency within the design and development phases
  • Design, develop, program, test, deploy and enhance web application interfaces in support of transactional/decision, forms-based, multi-step business processes
  • Design user interfaces for web applications following Treasury Board Web Standards, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Web Experience Toolkit (WET)
  • Produce/update user story documentation and technical specifications
  • Implement web application navigation and content flow and produce sitemaps and workflow diagrams
  • Develop user interfaces for web applications that include the use of web forms
  • Program user interfaces with CSS based layouts, scripting languages, frameworks
  • Develop prototypes/mock-ups of user interfaces for user and client acceptance
  • Develop the GUI for web applications following the Treasury Board Web standards
  • Develop graphics for the web using Adobe Creative Suite (i.e. Photoshop, Fireworks, etc.)
  • Develop web applications using IDEs (Integrated Development Environment)
  • Present application demos to stakeholders as required
  • Develop and maintain technical/system documentation
  • Develop user interfaces for mobile UI development
  • Perform automated front end testing
  • Use version control systems when developing user interfaces
  • Apply/Utilize an Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology as part of a collaborative team
  • Follow application life cycle methodologies, timelines and project plans
  • Collaborative team effort with the Project Manager, Interaction Designer, other Developers, Testers and Operations and Maintenance developers
  • Meets with clients when requested for project deliverables
  • Complete and submit, for weekly approval, time sheets by project using the (in-house) Project Tracking System
  • Provide updates/status reporting to project team management as required

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Enhanced Security Clearance
  • Minimum of 8 years working as a Web Developer performing Web Application Interface Development
  • Minimum of 5 years as a Web Developer Developing Prototypes/mock-ups of User Interfaces
  • Minimum of 5 years Developing User Interfaces using Javascript
  • Minimum of 5 years Programming User Interfaces with CSS-based layouts using CSS 3.0+
  • Minimum of 3 years Programming User Interfaces for Web Applications using HTML5+
  • Minimum of 1 year Developing User Interfaces using Angular and/or Angular JS and/or React and/or Vue.js.
  • Experience with WCAG – Web Content Accessibility Guidelines
  • Experience with using WET – Treasury Board Web Experience Toolkit
  • Experience with Adobe Fireworks and/or Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience with Version Control Systems such as (GIT, Mercurial, Visual Source Safe, CVS, SVN)
  • Experience Developing Dynamic User Interfaces in an IDE (Integrated Development Environment)
  • Experience developing Mobile UI for IOS or Android (either native or HTML5/CSS)
  • Experience with Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
