Job Description:

Our client requires a Technical Lead to facilitate the delivery of an Insurance Accounting Standards project.   The successful candidate will work with teams and vendors to implement the new standard and perform tandem testing to validate results.


Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Overall accountability for technical success of a project (SAS & Actuarial Model)
  • Accountable to ensure Logical and Physical Designs are created (Data) -
  • Lead technical teams to develop solutions including leveraging external SMEs as required (Actuarial Model)
  • Accountable for the optimization of IT investment by implementing solutions enabling business strategy execution
  • Review / support the development of requirements and business processes
  • Assist in project planning, quality assurance planning and support planning
  • Responsible for documenting and raise deviations from architecture direction
  • Advisory for non-functional testing, stress testing, load testing to ensure stability
  • Support functional quality control mechanisms (code reviews, automated testing, user testing, etc.)
  • Develop and implements appropriate security controls following applicable standards
  • Lead technical investigations to ensure quality of solutions and to optimize platforms
  • Responsible for the deployment of solutions to non-production and production
  • Lead the transition of solutions to operations / support (up to date documentation, knowledge base, exceptions and logs in place to assist with solution failures) including participating in the certification of the solution by architecture
  • Review and analyze existing solutions and recommend strategies for optimization
  • Provide expertise throughout the entire solution lifecycle
  • Interact with the Data Platform Technical Lead to align and follow lead
  • Develop, communicate, monitor technical trends & technology standards through governance bodies
  • In conjunction with SAS Tech Lead, lead strategic planning to achieve goals within timelines by identifying and prioritizing development initiatives


Skills and Experience Requirements

  • Application Data Integration and data management and processing
  • Knowledge of tools: SAS EG/Viya, SAS Visual Analytics
  • Solid SaaS implementation experience (preferably with SAS products)
  • System design, Application setup and configuration
  • Experienced with Application iterative/Incremental design and implementation
  • Release and deployment management
  • Cloud Infrastructure knowledge
  • Workflow and Business process analysis
  • Data Requirements/Mapping/Modeling – SQL Server and SQL
  • DevOps mindset and Programming
  • Balances product features and needs with Minimum Viable Product approach
